She definitely did the right thing by kicking them out. Not only were they incredibly disrespectful while living for free in the home, but then to slander her husband who has had a life-changing accident? Are they incompetent? Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Imagine hearing from your brother and his wife that your husband is weak and feminine for baking and cooking! Most women love a man who knows his way around the kitchen. I know I do, there's something so lovely about cooking with someone. It's definitely a quality I want in a man.

Woman kicks out golden child brother and pregnant girlfriend after they humiliate her husband, her parents accuse her of being too harsh: “[Their comments] don’t come from a bad place”
Not all of us have the unwitting and unfortunate situation of having a golden child sibling. How uncomfortable is it to feel like a second class citizen in your own home? Your parents are supposed to love you equally, give you and your siblings the same treatment and opportunities. Depending on your upbringing or culture, this may not be the case. I was lucky enough to grow up feeling extremely equal to my sister. She is the older one though, so maybe she wouldn't say the same. The oldest always get the most slack.
But that's besides the point. If you do grow up with a golden child sibling, you could more easily form resentment in your adult relationship with them. Maybe you're unengaged with them, maybe you've distanced yourself and subdued your relationship. Maybe you actually have ill feelings towards them, and don't want to step a toe out of line to help them at all. However you choose to handle the situation is up to you, but let's see what the protagonist of the story does.
In the story below, the protagonist has a golden child brother. You can blame it on one thing or the other, but you'll have to read the full story below for all the juicy details.
